Sunday, March 22nd, 2pm - 3:30pm
Recovery on Water (ROW) is a rowing team that gives survivors of breast cancer the unique opportunity to interact, become active in their recovery, and gain support from fellow survivors.
Regular exercise can help reduce the risk of breast cancer recurrence.
JOIN ROW this spring to get fit, fight back, and have fun. ROW provides exercise programs for survivors 6 days a week, year round: in rowing shells on the south branch of the Chicago River during the spring, summer, and fall, and on indoor rowing machines during winter months.
We are hosting a ROWpen House for new survivors to learn more and join our team. Learn to row this winter so that you're ready to row with us this spring!
Give rowing a try: Sunday, March 22nd from 2pm to 3:30pm at the Recovery on Water headquarters, located in the Bridgeport Art Center, 1200 W 35th St. We will teach you how to row on rowing machines and answer any questions you may have about the sport of rowing and the ROW program.
Rowing is a unique sport because of its ability to offer a full body workout while also protecting the upper trunk area where surgeries and treatments can greatly impact survivors. Give this lifelong sport with minimal joint impact a try!
Beginners welcome- no experience necessary. All fitness levels welcome- this sport is accessible to all!
