St. Pat’s Sprint for Recovery
Join us on the green river in 2020!
The St. Pat’s Sprint for Recovery is an annual fundraising event in which Recovery on Water takes center stage in Chicago’s epic St. Patrick’s Day celebration. We lead teams of four and eight for a row through the city’s green river, and we challenge indoor participants to test their endurance in the Power Hour, a relay-style erg race. This incredible event grows in popularity every year, so we hope you’ll be first in line to join us for the festivities in March 2020!
What’s The Power Hour?
Glad you asked! The Power Hour is a relay-style erging event, open to individuals and teams of up to four people, and the goal is simple: Get more meters than everyone else in 60 minutes. A lively crew of bagpipers keeps everyone motivated along the way, and friends and family are welcome to join the fun as spectators. And because a race just isn’t a race without prizes, the winning team (or individual) claims the St. Pat’s trophy!
I’m Not Into Rowing. What Else Could I Do?
We always need volunteers, and each of our rowers is fundraising to support Recovery on Water’s free programming for patients and survivors of breast cancer. Volunteers for the St. Pat’s Sprint will be gifted free swag and will also be invited to join us for a free beer and appetizers at the after party.
And of course our donors are critical participants. Those who contribute to individual or team fundraisers will join a diverse and generous community of givers who make it possible for ROW to serve a growing roster of members with athletic training, wellness workshops, outreach initiatives, and ongoing daily support for a life changed by a breast cancer diagnosis.
