On Friday, September 18th, we celebrated 19 years of Recovery on Water (ROW) with friends, families, and our community at the beautiful Woman’s Club of Evanston. A night of gratitude, generosity, and great momentum. Thank you for making our Gala a success!
Our heartfelt thanks go out to everyone who joined us for this year’s Gala, to our generous sponsors, and to all who supported us - even if you couldn’t attend in person. Your generosity, enthusiasm, and commitment made this event a tremendous success and reminded us of the power of bringing our community together around a shared purpose. One of the highlights of the evening was our exciting silent auction, where the enthusiasm and generosity of our community were on full display. Just as inspiring was the success of our paddle raise, which brought everyone together around a shared commitment to our mission.
The funds raised at this Gala will directly support important next steps, including bringing on a new Head Coach and welcoming our new Novices in November. These investments will help strengthen our program, support our athletes, and keep the boathouse doors open for any and all breast cancer survivors seeking physical empowerment and community support through and after cancer.
Of course, the Gala was about more than fundraising! It was also a wonderful evening to enjoy delicious food, hit the dance floor, and catch up with friends, teammates, families, and familiar faces. From conversations around the room to laughter on the dance floor, the evening was filled with the kind of connection that makes our community so special.
If you missed this year’s fun, take note: our 20th anniversary celebration is coming in 2027, and you won’t want to miss the chance to be part of it! Start looking forward to another memorable evening of community, celebration, and making a difference together.
