Become a Sponsor

Corporate Sponsorship with Recovery on Water (ROW) offers an exclusive opportunity to build brand affinity by letting you market to our diverse audience of breast cancer patients and survivors, board executives, and industry leaders representing the medical and fitness fields. When you choose to invest this one-year gift with ROW, you are opting for something more than detached philanthropic giving—you are instead choosing to have a lasting relationship with and impact on a team of women diagnosed with breast cancer.

Become a Volunteer

Through the generosity of volunteers, ROW is able to offer robust and engaging practice experiences, fundraising events, and learning opportunities. If you want to support our mission and our athletes, complete our volunteer application form, and we will aim to match your strengths to the variety of volunteer opportunities available throughout the year.

Volunteer as a Rower

We welcome volunteers with rowing experience to join us during water practices. Whether we have an odd numbers of athletes and need help filling out a lineup, or we’re looking for muscle to help carry boats and oars, there is a place for you at the docks. To volunteer as a rower, you must have at least one year of outdoor rowing experience.

Volunteer as a Coxswain

Are you a natural leader with a big voice and an innate ability to rally and direct others? Then we’d love to talk with you about becoming a volunteer coxswain. While coxswains are traditionally recruited from within a rowing team because they are the loudest and most petite individual there, we almost always look outside of our ranks to fill these roles. Why? Because it is our mission to get patients and survivors physically moving, which means rowing.

ROW will provide training for coxswains who lack prior experience, but we require a commitment of at least four practices a month so volunteers can get to know the team and vice versa.

Volunteer at Events

Not into the whole rowing thing? No worries! ROW works to maintain a diverse funding portfolio and, to that end, one of our major sources of income is annual fundraising events. These events range from St. Patrick’s Day races on Chicago’s Green River to 100-mile cycling events throughout the Midwest to celebratory galas in our own backyard, and we recruit dozens of volunteers for each of them.

You may assist with administrative functions, donor solicitations, participant management, or ticket sales, or you may be recruited as a floater to move around as needed! Either way, we aim to ensure that our volunteers have as much fun as all other event participants, and we’ll be excited to celebrate with you when the event ends.
